It's 1718 and the Caribbean is a rich picking ground for pirates as merchant ships stocked with gold and other treasures sail from the New World to Europe.

The British government is trying to rid the high seas of piracy by despatching flotillas of frigates to patrol the seas around the Caribbean islands. For the skilled sailor who know the coves and sounds however, piracy still has many attractions and there are many ways of disposing of looted treasure.

The port of Kingston, Jamaica, is a place where European gentlemen and Royal Navy Captains rub shoulders with pirates and vagabonds. In the taverns and coffee houses, deals are struck over copious amounts of rum and tobacco and people are often not what they seem.

Jake Longpistol is known throughout the region as a wealthy merchant but his money has come more through piracy than honest trade. The name ”˜Beardface' is feared across the Caribbean but few outside the pirate community realise that this is Longpistol's alter-ego.

The Buxom Buccaneer, a notorious dockside tavern in Kingston, Jamaica, was to have been the location for a meeting of some of the most feared pirates in the area, under parle. As the strongest pirate in the Caribbean, Longpistol was to have been the host but he has been found dead, drowned inside a barrel of rum.

Now there is a new item on the agenda for the pirate meeting ”“ who killed Longpistol?

The Cast:

• Ferdinand Broadside - Longpistol's main rival
  A gregarious and flashy buccaneer with long hair and a curly moustache who loves his position and ruthlessly defends it.



• Jasper Grapeshot - a less able pirate captain
  With scraggly hair and an unkempt beard, Jasper wears fine clothes (stolen mainly from ships he has raided) but does not have the bearing of a gentleman.



• Cuban Ruben - Longpistol's Boson
  Longpistol's faithful boson, Cuban knows his place and dresses modestly.



• Grisalda Hispanola - Surely the most glamorous pirate on the high-seas
  Surely the most glamorous pirate on the high-seas, with her long, flowing black hair and sexy clothing that she has no problem fighting in, Grisalda is every inch the adventuress; confident and lively.



• Sapphire Jane - Longpistol's mistress
  A sultry mistress who reveals a warm flirtatious nature once she is with other men and out of sight of Longpistol. Always well dressed and ladylike, she would not do well in a ship's crew.

Never run a large group mystery before? Then don't panic!

Hosting a Large Group Murder Mystery is time consuming, but with ample preparation and a good cast it is really quite simple and great fun!

In large group games it is impossible to give everyone a part, instead the mystery involves “cast members”� who are fully in the know and act out the mystery, and the guests act as detectives trying to solve the murder.

Large group games come in several different formats, clue based, cast based, multi-room, single room, or a mixture of them all.

This particular game requires 5 cast (who are fully in the know) and the use of 1 large dining room . One murder occurs before the guests arrive and one during the evening. The game is constructed to be run during a formal dinner.

Your guests play the role of detectives. You can have any number of detectives for this mystery, your only limit is the size of your room, however we would suggest a number no greater than 200.
