The Belfrey Hotel, situated in the popular holiday destination of Torquay, on the English Riviera, is a magnificent building, retaining many of its original features (in other words, it's in disrepair).

This grand (large and drafty) building offers a unique respite from the bustling tourist scene (the hotel is difficult to find), and is run by Mr. and Mrs. Bookin, who retain a small staff (understaffed) and strive for a family atmosphere (in other words, there's lots of arguing).

This evening, the Bookin's have welcomed local residents (as they have no guests) for a traditional Christmas meal. Unfortunately, at the start of the festivities, the man supposed to be playing Santa for the evening is discovered dead in his room. Ruling out food poisoning, it can only mean one thing: Santa has been murdered!

With the hotel in anarchy and the Bookin's close to losing control, it leaves the guests with only one option; they must uncover the killer themselves as quickly as possible or run the risk of a, frankly quite worrying, overnight stay!

The Cast:

• Ivor Bookin - Hotel Manager
  Tall and fond of melodrama, Ivor would really enjoy running a hotel if it wasn't for the guests who keep getting in the way!



• Phyllis Bookin - Hotel Manageress
  Sharp, petite and energetic, Phyllis has a shrill voice and barking laugh, but is extremely good in a crisis.



• Silvia Service - Waitress
  Good natured and seemingly a voice of sanity amongst the chaos at The Belfrey Hotel, Silvia is a helpful soul and always puts herself out for other people.



• Vinnie De'Tableau - Waiter
  Well meaning, but disorganised and often confused, Vinnie De'Tableau comes from Barcelona and has a limited grasp of the English language.



• Cathy Terize - The local District Nurse
  Buxom and friendly, Cathy Terize is always in uniform and always on duty, regardless of the season.

Never run a large group mystery before? Then don't panic!

Hosting a Large Group Murder Mystery is time consuming, but with ample preparation and a good cast it is really quite simple and great fun!

In large group games it is impossible to give everyone a part, instead the mystery involves “cast members”� who are fully in the know and act out the mystery, and the guests act as detectives trying to solve the murder.

Large group games come in several different formats, clue based, cast based, multi-room, single room, or a mixture of them all.

This particular game requires 5 cast (who are fully in the know) and the use of 1 large dining room . One murder occurs before the guests arrive and one during the evening. The game is constructed to be run during a formal dinner.

Your guests play the role of detectives. You can have any number of detectives for this mystery, your only limit is the size of your room, however we would suggest a number no greater than 200.
